The Guest Conference of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum “Arbitration Reform. Next Steps?” in Kaliningrad was held under the chairmanship of Alexander Konovalov, Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation, on February 19, 2016.
The Guest Conference of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum “Arbitration Reform. Next Steps?” in Kaliningrad is the first major international event after the adoption of arbitration reform laws where developers of the adopted laws, practitioners and leading arbitration experts were involved in professional comprehensive discussion of the forthcoming reform of arbitration proceedings, further steps of its implementation, exchange of opinions on the prospects of further development of arbitration in Russia and abroad.
The conference was attended by more than 100 members of business community, academia and arbitration experts from Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Great Britain and Romania.
The event included a plenary session and two roundtable discussions: New Rules of Establishment and Functioning of Arbitration Tribunals and Procedural Novelties in Arbitration. The participants shared their views on the future of arbitration proceedings in Russia and abroad, having had a comprehensive and professional discussion of the prospects of the arbitration reform and its future implementation.
